Your Bio

Thanks to the power of images to challenge time and draw me back into their scenes, photography is increasingly my memory and time machine. Despite today’s fast pace of life, photography artfully reminds me to stop, appreciate the present and focus on the moment.

My lifelong biology bent keeps me firmly grounded on the path of nature photography: botanical subjects, timeless landscapes and intimate scenes – visual poetry of the natural world.

I increasingly use the full-frame Sony Alpha 900 digital SLR for its highly detailed 24 mega pixel image quality and added convenience over large format equipment. Lightening up on my 35-pound large format backpack has been a welcomed relief. However, the dSLR, as capable as it is, does not trump the stunning detail achievable with my 4x5 inch Linhof Master Technika film camera.
