Feed Me - and Me - and Me! Oregon Junco (Junco hyemalis var. Oregonus) is a sub-species found along the North American West Coast from California to Alaska. The black head, flesh-colored bill and lighter breast of adults, sharply contrast in color. The back is rufous-brown and the two outer tail feathers flash pure white when the bird flies. This pleasant semi-tame little bird has made itself at home on my patio. Here they made a nest in a potted succulent plant. This is their second batch this year. This trio was photographed on June 29, 2010 . The first set hatched in May from a nest made in another potted plant. Over the past two Springs, they've had four separate clutches and never nested in the same plant twice.
